Halloween and Thanksgiving

I can't believe it's been 2 months since I wrote in here. Sorry about that. We've had two holidays since then and they were both great. We're all moved into our new place and pretty much settled in. I really like it. People think I'm strange because I only leave the house once or twice a week but I like it that way. I don't get cabin fever. I love spending time with Michael, taking him to the library, cooking and reading. It's so quiet and pretty out here, how can I not love it. I sure don't miss the city that's for sure. Hated the traffic and I am reminded of that every weekend when we go to Anchorage to see Michael's family. We usually stay the night in town at their house at least one night on the weekends.
Halloween was fun. Of course Halloween in Alaska is always really cold so indoor trick or treating is the best for the little ones. Michael was of course Thomas the Train this year. He saw it in the store and that was it, he had to have it. We went with my sister in law to her husbands office building and the kids got TONS of candy. Michael had so much fun and was pooped and didn't even want to go to anyones house.

We also had Thanksgiving at the Hills. (Michael's sister Hope and her husband Ben) I look forward to that every year. We love it there. Ben's family was here this year too so we had a ton of fun and then we kidnapped his 2 sons and step brother and took them to play cards. It was a blast.
After that long weekend we managed to get up our Christmas tree and Little Michael had so much fun we let him put all the ornaments on. You should have seen all the little bunches. It think he put like 6 ornaments on one spot but we don't care. Gaudy and gorgeous. He says it's beautiful and sparkly. He is really becoming quite the ham. He loves to dance and sing and show off. Wonder where he gets that from, hehe.

If you want to see more videos of him you can check out our youtube..

There is another from decorating the tree.
We have gotten lots of snow. It's been in the negative temperatures the last few days. BRRRR!!
Here is a couple pictures of our yard.

We are still hoping to go to Washington next summer but we will have to wait and see. Miss you all terribly and can't wait to see you.

Love ya.....Tresa

The Move

Well we are all moved out of our old place. Did I ever tell ya'll I HATE MOVING? So now we are staying in a 35ft motorhome until we can move into our new place in Wasilla. We are going from a duplex that is 2 bedrooms 1 bath with a 2 car garage to a ranch style house with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a 2 car garage. I am looking forward to having the extra room. Wasilla is about 45 minutes from Anchorage which is going to be quite a change for us. Wasilla is where Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin lives. It's a small town so I will feel right at home. People ride 4wheelers and snowmachines everywhere. Our neighbors threw us a going away party so that was nice. We are sure going to miss all of them. So now the plan is to move in to our new place on October 7th but depending on when the last renters move out we might be able to actually move in this weeekend. That would be nice because it is starting to get cold here.
Some of you may already know but we bought a 1974 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special Brougham. It is black with gold interior. We saw it in a parking lot out in Wasilla when we were house hunting and I thought for sure Michael was going to go off the road. He was so excited and we got a great deal on it. It is in almost perfect condition. No rust which is amazing for up here but it has only been up here for a couple years. The previous owners were Bill and Jeanie Green who were one of the original owners of the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Vegas. It is so cool to see all the original paperwork with their names and signatures on it. Anyway, yes it is a huge boat and we love it. We have only had it for a couple weeks and already had 3 offers on it but I don't think it's going anywhere anytime soon. Michael loves it. Anyway here is a picture.

Well we will keep everyone informed on where we are and what is going on. Right now we are at the In Laws which Little Michael is loving because he is getting spoiled. Love ya all and take care.

We're Moving

Well it's official. We are moving to Wasilla, AK. (Home of the new Republican Vice President candidate, Sarah Palin.) For those of you who don't know it is about 45 minutes from Anchorage. (About the size of Moses Lake.) Michael's company is relocating out there because there isn't enough room for their growing fleet here in Anchorage. We have been out there every night for the past 5 days looking at housing and we have ended chosing the first one we saw when we got out there. Go figure. The best part is it is literally across the street from the property where their new shop is going to be. Little ranch style with a huge kitchen which makes me sooo happy. I have been baking like crazy for the last few months and plan to do even more and being out there away from everyone I'm sure I will be in the kitchen even more. So we had to cancel Michael's registration for his first year of preschool. We will have to wait until next year or start him a couple months late. So we are moving out there officially October 1st. I am excited and nervous at the same time. Have to find a new church, new preschool and learn my way around all over again. We will post some pictures of our new house when we move in so everyone can see. Love ya.

What, Me Worry??

I use "Our Daily Bread" booklets as my daily Bible study. Well I felt like sharing the one I did today because I think it is a really good one. (It is the one from July 3rd, yes I'm a little behind). I have always been a worry wart so this one today kind of made me step back and think about how I have been.
I have to admit I couldn't just pick one of these following 3 questions. I had to pick all three. No matter how hard I try there are always times when I am still a real worry wart. Which in turn makes me crabby, which causes me to probably not be so nice. It's a domino effect. Gotta love my husband for putting up with me. :)

Worry may be a symptom of a bigger problem............
1. Lack of gratitude for the way God has cared for us in the past?
2. Lack of faith that God really is trustworthy?
3. Refusal to depend on God instead of ourselves?

Don't let worry hold you back from what God may be trying to teach you. Give your worries to Him. (Phil 4:6)

When you feel the tension mounting,
And across the busy day
Only gloomy clouds are drifting,
As you start to worry - Pray!

To be anxious about nothing, Pray about everything.

Alaskan Summer

Well it is the first week in July and we still have only had a couple of really nice days. I think the high we have had so far this year was about 70. But that is much better than in the 100s like it is back home in Washington. Michael is enjoying playing outside and swimming in the pool at his Grandparents house. He's getting braver and braver every year, doesn't want any help, wants to "swim" by himself. I think this is the first year in history that it is July and I haven't gotten a sunburn yet. Little Michaels native genes are kicking in and he is getting nice and dark and so is his Daddy. I got to see my niece and nephew, Austin and Brittney when they got to stay the night with us on their way to Adak to see their Grandma. Little Michael was so happy.
Got some good news. My best friend Tia and my little brother Dylan are coming to visit me for my birthday this year. Whew hew. I am so excited. Tia, Michelle and I are going to the Casting Crowns concert on August 9th. GIRLS NIGHT!!!! ;) Only thing better than 2 of my favorite girls and I having a girls night with Casting Crowns is if Jamie was going to be here too.

Michael is growing up so fast and as you can see in this picture he is taking after his Mama and loves music. He loves to sing. If you give him a microphone he won't give it back. He started running around the house with a plastic baseball bat holding it like a guitar and singing so we got him a real one. I'm sure I will get killed for this next one since he is in his underwear but here he is playing his new "cutar".

That's my boy. You cannot imagine how happy I was to hear him singing and in tune. And one of his favorite songs is Jesus Loves Me. Doesn't get any better than that. But his Daddy says as long as he is the next George Strait and not the next Justin Timberlake then we are good. Hehehe. He also loves to dance. He likes to imitate his cousin Miah who is an awesome dancer. He is like a little sponge right now. Learning things so fast.
I have to show you all another picture of Michael that I took with my phone. The crazy thing about this picture is that because it was taken with my phone there was no flash so no one can figure out how it turned out the way it did with all the white light around him. I can only think of one explanation. What about you?? :)

Well we hope everyone is having a good summer. We miss and love you all.
